CDRF is ‘DSIR’ recognised organization, one of the 9 international centres recognised for randomised clinical trial comparing Zygomatic Implant Vs Conventional implants in Augmented maxilla, study coordinated by Cochrane Oral Health Group.

01. A study on the “Prevalence of Periodontal Disease among Diabetics” was conducted in collaboration with M.V. Diabetes Hospital, Gopalapuram.

02. Field study on “Salivary flow rate and diabetes” was conducted in collaboration with M.V. Diabetes Hospital, Royapuram.

03. A qualitative study on the “Prevalence of Tobacco Use” was conducted in 11 villages in Sriperambudur Taluk. The knowledge, attitude and behavior of the villagers were studied by in-depth interviews and focused group discussions.

04. Oral Tissue Culture Lab was setup and a lymphocyte culture process was started on 29th June 2005 and the procedure was successfully standardized by November 2005. More than 100 metaphases per slide could be scored and the chromosomes showed good spreading and optimum staining.

05. Study of “Phenotypic alterations in Buccal Mucosal Fibroblasts from Normal, Chewers and Oral Submucous Fibrosis individuals – a Cell Culture Study” was conducted by Dr. Deepu George Mathew, post-graduate Ragas Dental College and Hospital.

06. Co-relation between Salivary Glucose and Serum Glucose levels for Pilot Study.

07. “A Comparative Study on the Cytotoxic Effect of Trichlosan, Chlorhexidine and Sodium Fluoride mouth rinses on human Gingival Mucosal Fibroblasts”, in vitro, at varying concentrations and time intervals.

08. “Comparative Study on Toxicity of Four Root End Filling Materials (WMTA, GMTA, IRM, GIC) on Human Buccal Mucosal Fibroblast: an in vitro study”

09. “Comparative Evaluation of the Cytotoxicity of two Therapeutic Agents on Human Oral Fibroblasts, at Varying Concentrations and Time Intervals: an in vitro study”.

10. An in vitro study on the “Cytotoxic effect of pro root MTA and Chlorhexidine on human buccal fibroblasts, with focus on apoptosis by flow cytometric analysis”
